An accesss request watcher has been added to support access requests that
will require downstream reconciliation based on access request approval. This
will be useful for requests that trigger external APIs in other Teleport
services once they've been approved. This will be useful for the upcoming
Okta integration work.

When the AWS Account ID is provided, we must check that it is a valid
one.
AWS Account ID is a well documented field: 12-digit string
This check is meant to prevent typos when creating Databases mainly from
the Web UI in the context of Teleport Discover.
n the context of Teleport Discover, we must be able to known if there's any DatabaseService available to proxy a given Database resource.
If there's none available, we will offer a script for the user to run and install a DatabaseService which proxies the desired Database resource.
By DatabaseService, we mean the process that Teleport binary manages when the `teleport.yaml` config has the following section:
```yaml
db_service:
enabled: "yes"
```
To accomplish this we are creating a new resource: DatabaseService.
The UI will fetch all DatabaseServices and check if there's any ResourceMatcher that matches the DatabaseLabels.
Previous PRs created the DatabaseService resource and its CRUD methods.
This PR adds an heartbeat for DatabaseServices similar to what we have for Databases.
There's also a new command to list DatabaseServices using `tctl`:
```
$ tctl get db_service --format text
Name Resource Matchers
------------------------------------ --------------------------------------
a6065ee9-d5ee-4555-8d47-94a78625277b (Labels: <all databases>)
```

```
dinis@lenix ~/p/cloudagents> tctl get db_services
* DatabaseService resource: client and server CRUD
In the context of Teleport Discover, we must be able to known if there's
any DatabaseService available to proxy a given Database resource.
If there's none available, we will offer a script for the user to run
and install a DatabaseService which proxies the desired Database
resource.
By DatabaseService, we mean the process that Teleport binary manages
when the `teleport.yaml` config has the following section:
```yaml
db_service:
enabled: "yes"
```
To accomplish this we are creating a new resource: DatabaseService.
The UI will fetch all DatabaseServices and check if there's any
ResourceMatcher that matches the DatabaseLabels.
A previous PR created the DatabaseService resource.
This PR creates all the necessary CRUD operations:
- Add Service to manage DatabaseServices resources in the backend.
- Add GetAll, Upsert, Delete and DeleteAll operations to Client.
- Add DatabaseService support to ListResources.
- Add WebAPI endpoint to list DatabaseServices using ListResources.
The next PR will add the heartbeat mechanism to the DatabaseService
process.
* Add support for GHES joining
* Add tests for GHES ID Token validation
* Add test covering Auth server github join with GHES override
* Use correct ctx
* Name interface method parameters for clarity
* Use "scheme" instead of "proto"
* Improve docs, validation and add tests
In a previous PR (#19363) we created a new resource type:
DatabaseService
Its only spec property for now is the ResourceMatcher field
This field should mirror what we offer in the configuration within
`db_service.resurces` from `teleport.yaml`.
Even though, the current implementation of
`types.DatabaseService.ResourceMatchers` is convertible to/from
`services.ResourceMatchers` - because its only field (from the latter)
is a list of labels - we would incur in breaking changes later on if the
`services.ResourceMatchers` got new fields.
This new resource is only in master (not yet released) and the backport
to v11 must include this change to prevent a breaking change from
happening in the future.
In the context of Discover we must be able to know when a DatabaseService process is running, in order to give feedback to the user.
DatabaseService process is the process that teleport binary manages when the `teleport.yaml` has
```yaml
db_service:
enabled: "yes"
```
To do so, we are creating a new resource: DatabaseService.
It will be similar to the way DatabaseServers work, using the same heartbeat mechanism.
To ease the review, we'll only add the RPC calls in this PR. Following PRs will:
- CRUD management over rpc
- DatabaseService hearthbeat
- webapi endpoint
Added the ability to specify two CLI flags for Access Requests:
"--request-ttl" and "--session-ttl".
Updated "CreateAccessRequest" to adhere to the following rules.
If an Access Request does not have a TTL set (expiration time
types.AccessRequest resource itself), a default of 1 hour is used. Next,
the request value is truncated by the lifetime of the certificate,
requested expiration, and then strictest session TTL on all roles
requested.
Similar logic is followed for the expiration time of the elevated
certificate that will be issued if the Access Request is approved. First
the requested value is truncated by the lifetime of the certificate,
requested expiration, and then strictest session TTL on all roles
requested.
The output of "tsh requests ls" and "tctl requests ls" has been updated
to display the TTL values.
* Connection Diagnostics: Postgres Database tester
When adding a new resource using the Web UI we want to allow users to
test connecting to it.
We have two connection testers already:
- for SSH Nodes
- for Kube clusters
This PR adds a third tester: Postgres Database.
Most of the required changes for any Database are already present but
we're focusing on Postgres for now. Other databases will be added as
future PRs.
Testing a Database is similar to the other tests:
- generate certs for the logged in user
- connect to the resource using those certs
When generating the certificate, we inject an ID so that the Database
Service can add Connection Diagnostic traces.
* hide labels from UI
* add test cases for hidding teleport.internal/ labels
* move labels logic to separate file
* move constant to right api/types/constants.go
* add godoc to makeLabels and rework label constants
* [draft] Add a new usage reporter
This adds a new usage reporter service to the auth server. It's
disabled by default in OSS and can only be turned on via startup hook
in Cloud / Enterprise. In OSS, the audit log wrapper is never
configured and any usage events are sent to a no-op discard reporter.
Usage events are defined in prehog and can be sent to the new
UsageReporter Service on the auth server. An audit event wrapper is
used to capture certain events that are otherwise difficult to hook.
Events are anonymized before submission, then held in a non-blocking
queue for batching and submission purposes.
* Remove dead code
* Add SubmitUsageEvent RPC to Auth.
This adds a new SubmitUsageEvent RPC to the Auth API that external
clients (e.g. the UI) can use to submit usage events externally.
* Slight refactor for unit testing
* Add Prometheus metrics and add initial working prehog submitter
* Add more metrics, tweak prehog client, and add unit tests
* Further tweak http transport settings based on Teleport defaults
* Add missing metrics
* Fix goimports
* Add new UI usage events
* Update e ref
* Add prehog directly for now. Improve logging.
* update prehog
* Add new prehog events; use username from request identity
* add HTTP server for user events
* Add username back to pre-onboard events
* unauthenticated user events
* Fix userevent build error
* Use event-provided username where appropriate
* Move barebones prehog reqs to lib/prehog and generate here.
Also, use prod tunable values.
* Fix license lints
* De-flake tests by adding unfortunate amounts of synchronization.
* Add missing license header
* Misc PR cleanup for review
* Update lib/events/usageevents/usageevents.go
This commit adds a new joinMethod as described in https://github.com/gravitational/teleport/pull/17905
This method allow pods running in the same Kubernetes cluster than the auth servers to join the Teleport cluster. It relies on Kubernetes tokens to establish trust. The goal is to be able to deploy proxies and auths separately and join them in a single cluser.
Pre Kubernetes 1.20, the tokens are static, long-lived, not bound to pods. We support them for compatibility reasons. Starting with Kubernetes 1.20, tokens are bound to pods (and starting with 1.21 they can be mounted through projected volumes). Starting with 1.21 we should only accept bound tokens. The chart will ensure tokens are properly mounted with projected volumes so we can benefit from the 1h to 10min token lifetime.
* Fix web ssh session with proxy recording mode
The agent was not being propagated when establishing an ssh session
via the web which resulted in the error described in #18850. Providing
the agent was straightforward, however, due to the changes from #18656
when using the forward server, as is required with proxy recording mode,
the ssh connection is now being performed directly over a `net.Pipe`.
Due to the synchronous nature of `net.Pipe` this causes a deadlock when
performing the ssh handshake. To mitigate the deadlocks, `DualPipeNetConn`
was changed to leverage `syscall.Socketpair` instead of `net.Pipe`.
`TestTerminal` now has two cases, one for node recording mode and another
for proxy recording mode. In order for the proxy recording mode test to pass
the fake clock used in the test needed to be properly propagated to the
`ssh.CertChecker` and `forward.ServerConfig`.
Fixes#18850
With the arrival of Teleport 12, we stop supporting v10.x.x clients, and we no longer require the `types.KindKubernetesService` legacy heartbeat.
This change removes the legacy heartbeat from Kubernetes Service but keeps the legacy Auth Server CRUD methods and heartbeat support to maintain compatibility with Teleport 11 Kubernetes Service - Teleport 11 still heartbeats the legacy type.
We postponed the related `DELETES` to Teleport 13.
- Determine Go version for cache key automatically instead of hardcoding.
- Do not build ghcr CI images (etcd and buildboxes) on PRs to avoid unintended breakages.
- Only build/push them on push events which mirrors our current Drone setup. We might add ability to trigger them manually via workflow_dispatch events later.
- Add release branches pattern for buildbox images trigger as well.
- Remove packages: read permission from test jobs since buildbox images are now public.
