Fixes#23897 (docs link only — naming rename is in #23905)
- Fix version stripping logic in both Go (`codersdk/deployment.go`) and
TypeScript (`site/src/utils/docs.ts`) to preserve `-rc.X` suffixes
instead of amputating them along with `-devel`
- Add `v0.0.0` fallback in the TS frontend to match Go backend behavior
for dev builds
- Add tests covering RC, devel, and plain release version strings

## Summary
Replaces raw error strings and infinite "Thinking..." spinners in the
agents chat UI with a structured live-status model that drives startup,
retry, and failure UI from one source of truth.
This branch also folds in the frontend follow-up fixes that fell out of
that refactor: malformed `retrying_at` timestamps no longer render
`Retrying in NaNs`, stale persisted generic errors no longer outlive a
recovered chat status, and partial streamed output stays visible when a
response fails after blocks have already rendered.
Consumes the structured error metadata added in #23275.
Retry-After header handling remains in #23351.

## Problem
The previous AgentDetail chat UI derived startup, retry, and failure
behavior from several loosely connected bits of state spread across
`ChatContext`, `AgentDetailContent`, `ConversationTimeline`, and ad hoc
props. That made the UI inconsistent: some failures were just raw
strings, retry state could only partially describe what was happening,
startup could sit on an infinite spinner, and rendering decisions
depended on local booleans instead of one authoritative model.
Those splits also made edge cases brittle. Invalid retry timestamps
could produce broken countdown text, persisted generic errors could
linger after recovery, and streamed partial output could disappear if
the turn later failed.
## Fix
Introduce a structured live-status pipeline for AgentDetail.
`ChatContext` now normalizes stream errors and retry metadata into
richer state, `liveStatusModel` centralizes precedence and phase
derivation, and `ChatStatusCallout` renders startup, retry, and terminal
failure states with shared copy, provider attribution, status links,
attempt metadata, and guarded countdown handling.
`AgentDetailContent` and `ConversationTimeline` now consume that single
model instead of juggling separate error and stream booleans, while
usage-limit messaging stays on its explicit path. The result is a
timeline that shows consistent state transitions, preserves accumulated
assistant output across failures, suppresses stale generic errors once
live state recovers, and has focused model, store, and story coverage
around those behaviors.
- Add `SanitizePromptText` stripping ~24 invisible Unicode codepoints
and collapsing excessive newlines
- Apply at write and read paths for defense-in-depth
- Frontend: warn in both prompt textareas when invisible characters
detected
- Explicit codepoint list (not blanket `unicode.Cf`) to avoid breaking
flag emoji
- 34 Go tests + idempotency meta-test, 11 TS unit tests, 4 Storybook

## Summary
Fixes several bugs in the markdown URL transform that replaces
`localhost` URLs with workspace port-forward URLs in the AI agent chat.
## Bugs Fixed
### 1. URLs without an explicit port produce `NaN` in the subdomain
When an LLM outputs a URL like `http://localhost/path` (no port),
`parsed.port` is the empty string `""`. `parseInt("", 10)` returns
`NaN`, producing a broken URL like:
```
http://NaN--agent--workspace--user.proxy.example.com/path
```
Now defaults to port 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS via the new
`resolveLocalhostPort()` helper.
### 2. Protocol always hardcoded to `"http"`
The `urlTransform` in `AgentDetail.tsx` always passed `"http"` as the
protocol argument, silently discarding the original URL's scheme. This
meant `https://localhost:8443/...` would not get the `s` suffix in the
subdomain. Now extracts the protocol from the parsed URL, matching the
existing behavior of `openMaybePortForwardedURL`.
### 3. `urlTransform` not memoized
The closure was re-created on every render. Wrapped in `useCallback`
with the four primitive dependencies (`proxyHost`, `agentName`,
`wsName`, `wsOwner`).
### 4. Duplicated `localHosts` definition
The localhost detection set was defined separately in both
`AgentDetail.tsx` and `portForward.ts`. Consolidated into a single
shared export from `portForward.ts`.
## Changes
- **`site/src/utils/portForward.ts`**: Export shared `localHosts` set
and new `resolveLocalhostPort()` helper. Update
`openMaybePortForwardedURL` to use both.
- **`site/src/pages/AgentsPage/AgentDetail.tsx`**: Import shared
`localHosts` and `resolveLocalhostPort`. Fix protocol extraction.
Memoize `urlTransform`.
- **`site/src/utils/portForward.jest.ts`**: Add tests for
`resolveLocalhostPort` and `localHosts`. Renamed from `.test.ts` to
`.jest.ts` to match project convention.

Backend: #23036
Replaces our custom `<GlobalSnackbar />` (MUI Snackbar + event emitter)
with [`sonner`](https://github.com/emilkowalski/sonner). Deletes
`GlobalSnackbar/`, the custom event emitter infra, and migrates ~80
source files to `toast.success()` / `toast.error()` from `sonner`.
- ~47 error toasts now surface API error detail via
`getErrorDetail(error)` in the toast description, not just a generic
message. Coincides with #22229.
- Toast messages follow an `{Action} "{entity}" {result}.` format (e.g.
`User "alice" suspended successfully.`) since toasts persist across
navigation now.
- 17 uses of `toast.promise()` for loading → success → error lifecycle.
- Some toasts include action buttons for quick navigation (e.g. "View
task", "View template").
- Multiple toasts can stack and display simultaneously.

When a workspace with a TaskID hits its deadline, use
BuildReasonTaskAutoPause instead of BuildReasonAutostop. This allows
downstream systems to distinguish between regular autostop and task
workspace pauses.
Created by Mux using Opus 4.5.
This pull-request finds all of our previous instances of the MUI-based
Latency `color`'s and updates them to use the equivalents form the
Tailwind package.
The pause icon (`||`) for the Stop button was confusing as it suggests
pause/resume functionality. Changed to a square icon (`□`) which is the
standard icon for stop in media players and interfaces.

### After
The button will now display a square (⬛) stop icon instead of the pause
(⏸) icon.

Closes#21301
This pull-request adds a very simple `function formatDate(date: Date,
options: Intl.DateTimeFormatOptions)` function which will allow us to
standardise the rendering of dates across the application. This is
inline with the content of #21252.
This PR introduces new build reason values to identify what type of
connection triggered a workspace build, helping to troubleshoot
workspace-related issues.
## Database Migration
Added migration 000349_extend_workspace_build_reason.up.sql that extends
the build_reason enum with new values:
```
dashboard, cli, ssh_connection, vscode_connection, jetbrains_connection
```
## Implementation
The build reason is specified through the API when creating new
workspace builds:
- Dashboard: Automatically sets reason to `dashboard` when users start
workspaces via the web interface
- CLI `start` command: Sets reason to `cli` when workspaces are started
via the command line
- CLI `ssh` command: Sets reason to ssh_connection when workspaces are
started due to SSH connections
- VS Code connections: Will be set to `vscode_connection` by the VS Code
extension through CLI hidden flag
(https://github.com/coder/vscode-coder/pull/550)
- JetBrains connections: Will be set to `jetbrains_connection` by the
Jetbrains Toolbox
(https://github.com/coder/coder-jetbrains-toolbox/pull/150) and
Jetbrains Gateway extension
(https://github.com/coder/jetbrains-coder/pull/561)
## UI Changes:
* Tooltip with reason in Build history

* Reason in Audit Logs Row tooltip

/>
This is the fourth PR for moving connection events out of the audit log.
This PR adds `/connectionlog` to the frontend. This page is identical in structure to the audit log, but with different filters and contents.
The connection log lists sessions, and the time they start. If we support tracking the end time of a session, and we've received a disconnect event for that session, the end timestamp is also included.
Demo:

<img width="184" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e83234bc-4d9d-4f71-b668-9256a600659c" />
Since the styling is identical to that of the audit log, I've continued to use MUI table components. When the audit log is migrated off MUI/restyled, this table can be too, relatively easily.
Future PRs:
- Write a query to delete old events from the audit log, call it from dbpurge.
- Write documentation for the endpoint / feature
## Description
This PR updates the lifecycle executor to explicitly exclude prebuilt
workspaces from being considered for lifecycle operations such as
`autostart`, `autostop`, `dormancy`, `default TTL` and `failure TTL`.
Prebuilt workspaces (i.e., those owned by the prebuild system user) are
handled separately by the prebuild reconciliation loop. Including them
in the lifecycle executor could lead to unintended behavior such as
incorrect scheduling or state transitions.
## Changes
* Updated the lifecycle executor query
`GetWorkspacesEligibleForTransition` to exclude workspaces with
`owner_id = 'c42fdf75-3097-471c-8c33-fb52454d81c0'` (prebuilds).
* Added tests to verify prebuilt workspaces are not considered in:
* Autostop
* Autostart
* Default TTL
* Dormancy
* Failure TTL

## Problem
Users were being automatically logged out when deleting OAuth2
applications.
## Root Cause
1. User deletes OAuth2 app successfully
2. React Query automatically refetches the app data
3. Management API incorrectly returned **401 Unauthorized** for the
missing app
4. Frontend axios interceptor sees 401 and calls `signOut()`
5. User gets logged out unexpectedly
## Solution
- Change management API to return **404 Not Found** for missing OAuth2
apps
- OAuth2 protocol endpoints continue returning 401 per RFC 6749
- Rename `writeInvalidClient` to `writeClientNotFound` for clarity
## Additional Changes
- Add conditional OAuth2 navigation when experiment is enabled or in dev
builds
- Add `isDevBuild()` utility and `buildInfo` to dashboard context
- Minor improvements to format script and warning dialogs

This change replaces date-fns with dayjs throughout the codebase for
more consistent date/time handling and to reduce bundle size. It also
tries to make the formatting and usage consistent.
**Why dayjs over date-fns?**
Just because we were using dayjs more broadly. Its formatting
capabilities, were also easier to extend.
We are starting to add app links in many places in the UI, and to make
it consistent, this PR extracts the most core logic into the
modules/apps for reuse.

A few storybook tests have been false positives quite frequently. To
reduce this noise, I'm implementing a few hacks to avoid that. We can
always rollback these changes if we notice they were leading to a lack
in the tests.
## Changes made
- Updated `OneWayWebSocket` class to prevent errors from being
dispatched after a connection has been manually closed.
- Renamed one of the class properties for less ambiguity
- Made error messages for the class constructor more specific
Closes https://github.com/coder/coder/issues/16775
## Changes made
- Added `OneWayWebSocket` function that establishes WebSocket
connections that don't allow client-to-server communication
- Added tests for the new function
- Updated API endpoints to make new WS-based endpoints, and mark
previous SSE-based endpoints as deprecated
- Updated existing SSE handlers to use the same core logic as the new WS
handlers
