Update crypto to 0.6.0 and remove our replacement in api (#23131)
* Update `crypto` in api It was missed that cyrpto is being replaced in our `api` as well. This commit updates the version to match the one in the repo root. * Remove replacement for crypto in `api` Replacement directives only function when defined at the main project level, they are not inherited. Automatically parse entity ID from SAML SP during CLI creation. (#22101)
* Automatically parse entity ID from SAML SP during CLI creation. When a SAML IdP service provider is created in the CLI, the entity ID will be automatically parsed out of the entity descriptor and pushed into the object before pushing the object to the backend. Extract entity ID when creating SAML service provider. (#21375)
* Extract entity ID when creating SAML service provider. The entity ID will be parsed from the entity descriptor metadata when the service provider's entity descriptor is set. The motivation of this PR is to do the following: * Extract the entity ID from the entity descriptor during the creation of the SAML IdP service provider. * Prevent the creation of service providers in the backend that have an entity ID that does not match the entity ID represented in the entity descriptor. * When reading or listing service providers, prevent the parsing of every entity descriptor during the listing. Add warning about /x/crypto v0.3.0+ updates (#18570)
[A recent /x/crypto commit][1] breaks compatibility with OpenSSH <=7.6, so we are adding a warning to avoid bumping crypto until that is solved. Use x/exp/slices instead of home grown utilities (#18524)
We were inconsistent throughout the codebase and would sometimes use the slices package and other times use our own equivalents in api/. This removes our versions in favor of the golang.org/x package that does the same, which has the added benefit of reducing the surface area of the public API module. Note: despite existing uses of the slices package, for some reason it didn't show up in go.mod or go.sum. Fixed that too. |

* Add client side circuit breaker to auth clients In order to apply back pressure we can utilize a circuit breaker that monitors error responses from auth server. When tripped it will prevent all outbound requests to auth for a period of time. This can also help prevent a potential thundering heard when auth is in an unhealthy state. By default the circuit breaker will only be tripped if 90% of the requests made in the monitoring interval fail. |

Span forwarding (#12980)
* Span forwarding Modifies the auth grpc server to implement the OTLP Collector RegisterTraceServiceServer API (https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-proto/blob/main/opentelemetry/proto/collector/trace/v1/trace_service.proto). This allows the auth server to receive spans from other services like `tsh`, `tctl`, and `tbot`. Any spans received by the auth server will be forwarded to the exporter configured via the `tracing_service` if it is enabled. All received spans will be dropped in the event that the`tracing_service` disabled. By forwarding spans to the auth server, `tsh` doesn't need to be provided with any of the telemetry backend information to have its spans exported. Adds a new `--trace` flag to `tsh` to enable collecting and forwarding spans to the auth server. When set, the tracing provider is initialized with a sampling rate of 1.0 to force all spans to be recorded. Teleport respects the sampling rate from remote spans, which means that when `--trace` is set, all spans from `tsh` and any downstream Teleport services will be recorded and exported regardless of the sampling rate that each Teleport service is configured with. |

Add auto instrumentation to http and grpc clients and servers (#12231)
Leverage otelhttp to generate spans for http clients and http handlers. Additionally add spans for grpc clients and servers by using the otelgrpc interceptors. This is step one in implementation of RFD 65. Until further work is done, the spans generated will be a no-op until the tracing provider is initialized. |
