On Windows, path.relative() returns an absolute path when source and
target are on different drives. The ignore npm package throws a
RangeError when fed such paths. This caused 'Failed to send prompt'
when VS Code had open tabs from another drive (e.g. extension settings
in AppData while workspace is on D:).
Guard all path.relative() → ignore.ignores() call sites against
absolute results by checking path.isAbsolute() and a Windows
drive-letter regex.
decoder.write() can hold incomplete multi-byte sequences internally.
Without calling decoder.end() after streams close, those trailing bytes
are silently dropped. Flush all decoders after process exit so any
remaining bytes are emitted as replacement characters rather than lost.
Replace chunk.toString() with StringDecoder in stream processing to
prevent garbled characters (arrows, tree-drawing chars appearing as
mojibake) when multi-byte UTF-8 sequences are split across chunk
boundaries. StringDecoder maintains state across chunks to correctly
reassemble incomplete characters.
Fixed in bash tool, prompt shell execution, and ripgrep output.
Replace Bun.Glob usage with a new Glob utility wrapper around the npm 'glob' package.
This moves us off Bun-specific APIs toward standard Node.js compatible solutions.
Changes:
- Add new src/util/glob.ts utility module with scan(), scanSync(), and match()
- Default include option is 'file' (only returns files, not directories)
- Add symlink option (default: false) to control symlink following
- Migrate all 12 files using Bun.Glob to use the new Glob utility
- Add comprehensive tests for the glob utility
Breaking changes:
- Removed support for include: 'dir' option (use include: 'all' and filter manually)
- symlink now defaults to false (was true in most Bun.Glob usages)
