gitattributes only covered five file types; on a windows clone (core.autocrlf=true) every other text file checks out as crlf, which spotless's origin/main ratchet then treats as whole-repo changes and the format gate fails everywhere. declare lf as the repository-wide text convention with explicit crlf exceptions for bat/cmd/ps1, mark the binary asset families, and renormalize (no content changes - the tree was already lf)
