Proxies

A proxy is an intermediary server that sits between a client and a destination server, forwarding requests and often adding functionality like caching, load balancing, or filtering. Reverse proxies sit in front of backend servers to distribute traffic and hide internal infrastructure, while forward proxies sit in front of clients. Architects use proxies to improve performance, security, and manageability of network traffic.
